Sometimes, all you need is a drink; a drink to end the work week, a drink to start the weekend, a drink after a tough Monday, a drink after a tough Friday night. And with summer slowly creeping up on us, we’re all going to need drinks of the frozen kind to keep us cool and collected!
If you know me, you know I don’t drink very much. By not very much I mean I probably drink 1 drink a week, and that’s about it. No much reasoning behind it, just that I typically prefer to use up my calories in bacon, cheese, pasta, and rice! But now and then I do enjoy a drink and today is just one of those days!
This Chocolate Pomegranate Martini was inspired by a new company I just discovered called Sweet Leaf, a stevia sweetener that not only comes in powdered form (to use as sugars), but also comes in liquid form with a variety of natural flavors and I think it’s the best idea ever! This way, you can add fun flavors to your drinks without all the added artificial sweeteners (because let’s be real, I don’t care about the calories but I DO care about what goes into my body! Ahem, vodka.)

I learned that stevia is a naturally sweet plant indigenous to South America where it has been used to sweeten food and beverages for more than 500 years.
I visited the SweetLeaf site and learned about SugarLeaf which I didn’t even know existed!! I’m excited to start trying this in my baking in place of sugar and see how my sweet treats turn out!

Oh that martini sounds yummy! I visited Sweet Leaf, I wasn’t sure that you could cook with it, but yep! I have been wanting to try it, love that it is chemical free 🙂
I’m with you on the cocktails…sometimes you just need one! Love the chic-pom combo here, and also love your Belushi quote! Too funny!
