Chive blossom vinegar is a tasty addition to many recipes. Flavored vinegars can be used in salad dressings, sauces, and preserving/pickling.

Chives are delicious in their own right, and the blossoms are incredibly fragrant and gorgeous. I think chive blossoms smell a little bit like scallions (green onions), but it’s their beautiful color that draws me in.

If you decide to make this fragrant, delicious flavored vinegar, here are a few important notes and tips:
Be sure to use pesticide free blossoms.
The vinegar I had on hand was unsweetened rice vinegar, so it’s what I used.
As mentioned earlier, the blossoms have a slight onion flavor and gorgeous pink color, perfect for salads or over vegetables.
