Alongside a blend of spices and a burst of bright lemon, this avocado dip has all the flavors of your favorite Mediterranean dish but in a simple and easy to make dip.

What makes something taste like “falafel”?

It’s the spices, alongside the tahini paste, that make this dish sing. In this recipe, I used a blend of: coriander powder, cumin powder, freshly ground black pepper, and a little pinch of cayenne pepper, which is optional.

The blend of these spices are reminiscent of falafel, and have become my favorite. You can also find “falafel” spice blend already made and super easy.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium avocados
  • ½ lemon juiced
  • 2 tablespoons tahini paste
  • ½ teaspoon coriander powder
  • ½ teaspoon cumin powder
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne powder optional
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • fresh herbs to taste: parsley and dill
  • to taste: salt

Instructions

  • Using a blender or food processor, place all the ingredients inside and blend until smooth.
  • Taste and season with salt.
Servings: 1 cup
