Healthy tropical smoothie?! Absolutely! Spring is on its way, and you can feel the shift. We’re craving lighter meals, fresher fruits, and brighter flavors. Taste the tropics with this delicious and healthy tropical smoothie recipe!
Spring has arrived! How incredible does it feel that summer is just around the corner?! But let’s live in the present and enjoy the beautiful days of spring. We are in for warmer days, bright flowers popping up from the earth, and lighter meals this season.
Let’s start with my current go-to smoothie recipe: a healthy tropical smoothie for everyone!
A blend of banana, pineapple, and lime juice gives this smoothie just the right balance of flavors. In no time, you’ll be day dreaming of beaches, palm trees, and warm breezes in a tropical paradise!
Oh and there are dates in my smoothie. They’re my latest obsession. They not only add natural sweetness to all my smoothies, but they are packed with dietary fiber!
And why is dietary fiber important?
Dietary fiber in dates helps to move waste smoothly through your colon, and helps prevent LDL (bad) cholesterol absorption by binding with substances containing cancer-causing chemicals (source). Make sure to keep some dates in your pantry and add one or two into every smoothie you make… your body will thank you!
