Happy first day of summer! Along with a few blogger friends, I’m hosting a Sizzling Summer Blog Hop starting today. We’ve all got some amazing prizes, so be sure to enter the giveaways that will surely make your summer fun and delicious!
In celebration of the first day of summer, a couple of bloggers friends and I have gotten together to each host an awesome giveaway. To say thanks for reading us, to let you know we appreciate your comments, to share the love!
My personal giveaway is all about Martha’s Vineyard, a little island on the coast of Massachusetts where families vacation and we work. The Vineyard is all about seasonality: May through October is what we call “the season”, meaning the season when everything is up and running, all the restaurants are open, and there are daily activities to attend, plus work days that are 14 hours long. October through April is the “off-season” when locals get to relax, take care of home projects, work on their manuscripts (because everyone is a writer in disguise), and suffer through a long, harsh winter.
But today my friends, today we celebrate with this gloriously local giveaway of some of my favorite artisan products from Martha’s Vineyard. This island is packed with creative people that makes some of the best products I’ve ever tasted and if you win, you’ll get to savor a tiny piece of MV in your own home.
Enter to win:
- locally made fudge from Murdick’s Fudge
- locally roasted coffee by Chilmark Coffee
- salt from our Martha’s Vineyard water made by MV Sea Salt
- honey collected from local bees by Martha’s Vineyard Honey
- raw chocolate by the ladies at Not Your Sugar Mamas.

Panzanella with tomatoes from the garden.
Do homemade margaritas count?
Homemade coffee granitas!
I love homemade iced coffee. The Pioneer Woman has a good recipe on her blog.
I like sour cucumbers and onions in the summertime.
My favorite summer recipe is my grandma’s recipe for pecan ice cream. It’s so good! 🙂
anything no bake! we like no bake cookies and really easy fudge.
My favorite recipe has to be strawberry rhubarb crumble, but I’m supposed to be on a no-fruit diet this summer (doctor’s orders) so I’m not sure if I should cheat or miss out!
Oh man fresh salsa or pico de gallo. I could live on chips and salsa for most of the summer. Nothing–and i mean NOTHING–beats a fresh still warm tomato from the garden. Excuse me while I wipe the drool from my keyboard 😉 And I feel like I make way more pie in the summer months. That might be odd, but it is what it is. I just whipped up a banana cream pie a few weeks ago and then recently a strawberry rhubarb meringue pie.
