Somehow, it’s almost the end of May. Which means in a few weeks, SUMMER is here. So this Spring Cleaning post is a little belated, but let’s be honest? We all pushed back the organizing, de-cluttering, cleaning, dusting, and wiping down furniture as much as we could! No, opening the windows and calling it a day is NOT just what spring cleaning is about! For us (The Murrays), it’s a time to clear out not only our closets and donate gently used clothing, as well as shoes, book, and kitchen items, but this year we were lucky enough to test out some of the new scents by Mrs. Meyers and Caldrea, two fantastic companies which we’ve fallen in love with.
Rosewater Driftwood by Caldrea
And when I say fallen in love, I mean head over heels I can’t stop thinking about this scent, kind of love. Which scent am I babbling about? Rosewater Driftwood by Caldrea. With a combination of natural oils such as marigold, chamomile, and cedar woods, it smells like clean summer, if that’s a thing. It smells like if we lived in a dream beach house surrounded by a fresh herb garden, hydrangeas, and the sea.
From Caldrea: “Every day, we aim to provide the most gratifying and thoroughly addictive home and body care products available. We’re passionate about choosing the most potent and responsible ingredients that are incredibly effective, yet safe and gentle for our homes and our loved ones. It is this passion that centers our product experience, connecting beauty, thoughtfulness and optimism. It is a reflection of the positivity we hope to inspire in people’s lives.”
Another product line we’re loving is the Mrs. Meyers Clean Day, specifically their brand new scent, Radish. The line includes liquid dish soap, hand soap, countertop spray, and an all-purpose cleaner. We also love that there are plenty of other scents to choose from, including Lavender, Lemon Verbena, Basil, Geranium and many others. All are earth-friendly, cruelty-free and not tested on animals.
Mrs. Meyers Clean Day in Radish Scent
Am I the only one that can’t go to bed with a dirty kitchen? Better yet, I hate waking up to a dirty kitchen. It ruins that start of my day and even if it means shoving dirty, crusty dishes in the dishwasher while falling asleep, I get it done to avoid having to do it in the morning. And now, with the new Radish scent by Mrs. Meyers Clean Day, I kind of like doing the dishes and cleaning the countertops. The smell is intoxicating in the best way possible – zesty, crisp, peppery; just like biting into a fresh, cool radish.
From Mrs. Meyers: “Our products were inspired by Mrs. Thelma A. Meyer, an Iowa homemaker and mother of nine. It all started when one of her daughters was walking down a cleaning aisle, eyeing all the products with their harsh, stinky chemicals. Right then and there, she had an idea: “Let’s make cleaners that smell nice, like my mom’s garden, but still work like the dickens on daily dirt and grime.”
Antica Farmacista in Vanilla, Bourbon & Mandarin
But let’s be real – I don’t spend my days spraying here, there, and everywhere (although my husband would beg to differ, since all he seems to hear is the shoosh shish of the spray bottle going!) Smack center of our living/dining area, I’ve placed this gorgeous diffuser jar from Antica Farmacista in Vanilla, Bourbon & Mandarin and oh my, has it changed the way our small home smells! It’s a delicate, sweet smell with citrus and woodsy notes that just drifts from room to room. By uncorking the bottle and dipping the thin white birch reeds, the scent spreads all over the room and when I want an extra boost, I just flip over the reeds for a more intense smell. Our home instantly smells clean and delicious!
From Antica Farmacista: “Antica Farmacista is the company that brought the reed diffuser concept to the United States in 2003. While Antica Farmacista is loved for its packaging and innovations in home ambiance, the heart of the brand is the fragrances themselves. Each fragrance is formulated with only the world’s finest essential oils and natural ingredients, and every product is meticulously produced and presented in an antique inspired apothecary bottle.”
Anything in the citrus family is good.
I’ve been DYING to try Meyers Basil…I’ve read so much about it…..
