It’s been written up by Tasting Table and Esquire and now you have a chance to win a GrubKit yourself! But first, what’s a GrubKit?

It’s an eco-friendly packaged box of non-perishable ingredients and instructions that will help a cook, whether a novice or a professional, to create delicious recipes at home. Ingredients that are difficult to source or tedious to buy in bulk when all you need is a tablespoon of flavor. Ingredients that are organic when possible and always of the highest quality. Oh and did I mention they are pre-measured? All you have to do is buy a few perishables, know how to read simple instructions and light your fire, cause you’re ready to cook with GrubKit!

We had a chance to cook from the Kung Pao Chicken kit created by Diane Kuan of AppetiteforChina.com and it was such a smooth and seamless experience. The instructions are to the point and easy to follow, and having the ingredients measured out is great for novice cooks not familiar with spices in the kitchen.

This particular Grub Kit included Sichuan Pepper, a pepper I had never tried and neither had M. With a floral and citrus scent, it is known a the backbone of Sichuan Cuisine. It definitely added slight heat, flavor, and a nice balance.

As a final thought, I think GrubKits are perfect for professional cooks not wanting to cook at home but want delicious foods. Sure, you have to cook a little, but not too much. And for beginner cooks, it’s the perfect way to learn how to read instructions carefully and follow directions, a very important quality in a cook.

Oh and p.s.? You want to get your Christmas shopping done before November? Get everyone on your list a GrubKit! Teenagers need to learn how to cook (future life skills), your 20-something friends are always looking for a free meal, and your 40/50-something friends love trying new things!
