Top 5 Places for Breakfast on Martha’s Vineyard!

Whether you’re visiting Martha’s Vineyard for a weekend or a month, the best way to start ALL your days on the Vineyard is with a hearty breakfast. Below are my top 5 spots to grab a delicious bite before starting your day, be it for a quick coffee or leisurely 2-hour breakfast. I’ve included the most current contact information and address for each place, so be sure to check them out!

Dock Street Cafe
Two words – PORT MAC. The Dock Street Cafe is known as the local spot to have breakfast and the iconic red leather stools at the bar is the only spot to grab it. What’s a Port Mac, you ask? It’s a simple egg sandwich, made utterly amazing with Linguica (Portuguese Sausage) and cheese. Warm bread, melting cheese, and the spiciness of the sausage makes for a quick grab and go breakfast that you can enjoy on the Edgartown Harbor.
Address: Dock St., Edgartown, MA
Tel: 508.627.5232

Art Cliff Diner
During the height of the summer season, you’ll have to wait a few minutes for a table inside but trust me, it’s well worth it! The Art Cliff boosts a menu unlike any other, with Breakfast Tacos with grilled chorizo or better yet, try one of their daily specials like Sweet Potato Scones baked in house or seasonally flavored pancakes. I’m a sucker for their Spicy Chicken Hash, a filling meal that will make your body ask for a nap right afterwards!
Address: 39 Beach Road, Vineyard Haven
Tel.:   508.693.1224

Black Dog Cafe

When running to catch the ferry or just docking in Vineyard Haven for the weekend, stop by the Black Dog Tavern and have a sweet treat to start your day. Their brownies are some of the best on island
Address: 509 State Rd.Vineyard Haven, MA
Tel: 508.696.8190

Espresso Love
If you’re running around Edgartown and need a pick me up, Espresso Love is just the spot. Coffees made to your liking and some of the best Spinach and Cheese Croissants I’ve ever tried! They also serve lunch and alcohol, for those needing a more special kind of pick me up. Try their Katama Chicken Sandwich and ask for a side of their Citrus Mayo, you’ll fall in love!
Address: 17 Church Street Edgartown, MA
Tel.: (508) 627-9211

Among the Flowers Cafe
I’m not one to make omelets at home, but once in a while I love ordering them when I’m out. The California omelet at Among the Flowers is stuffed with Havarti Cheese, Avocado, Tomatoes, Basil, and Caramelized Onions, a combination of ingredients that will definitely wake you up! Order a side of Linguica to add some spice to your meal!
Address: 17 Mayhew Ln., Edgartown, MA
Tel: 508.627.3233

These facts are really interesting. Few of them were well known for me but many of them were brand new for me too!
I will print this one out and show to my friends because they will be definitely interested in that. Thanks!

I have loved Espresso Love since it first opened years ago.
I am so crazy over the blueberry scones that I buy at least a dozen of them before coming home to NJ… I put them in the freezer and savor them one by one until I get back to EL for more. Love the coffee there too. It’s just a great, relaxing and yummy place.
