Today, I’m excited to share about one of my favorite at-home eats: Cafe Spice, a brand of authentic Indian dishes and snacks that are easy to reheat at home and deliver on great tastes. Read to the end for a chance to win a giveaway of ten free meals from Cafe Spice!
This post is sponsored by Cafe Spice but as always, opinions are my own and I would never share something I don’t love 100% – thank you for supporting brands I trust and love.
Living on Martha’s Vineyard has its ups and downs, but the most definitive down for me is the lack of diversity in food offerings at local restaurants. Yes, there’s Brazilian, Thai, Chinese, and I think that’s about it aside from the chef pop-ups that bring us a few other options. When Cafe Spice reached out to me to try their freshly prepared, ready-to-eat global cuisine, I was ready to dive in, fork first! Authentic Indian fare created by celebrated chef Hari Nayak, these meals made me so happy to enjoy in the comfort of my own home, without having to cook them myself.
Since Indian food is rarely offered on Martha’s Vineyard and for those of us that miss this cuisine, these meals are just the right thing. They’re available locally at Croning’s Market as well as Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods, and I recommend you pick up a few to try. They are created using wholesome, fresh ingredients and that’s something that translates very well – you can taste how fresh, bright, and vibrant these meals are, all while bringing you comfort in one bite.
The variety of meals offered really stood out to me. First up, the toasties: Chicken Tikka Naan Toastie, Cauli Tikka Naan Toastie, and Chutney Chicken Naan Toastie. Here’s how I describe them:
Imagine a grilled cheese sandwich had a baby with the most flavorful, Indian inspired filling, all held together by melty cheese in a delicious naan bread.
And here’s how the brand describes them, which to be honest, does a better job than I do:
“There’s nothing like being in the center of Mumbai, hopping from food cart to food cart, waiting anxiously to try the exploding mix of flavors at the most popular vendors. It’s something you can experience today, and something Chef Hari loved as a boy—he’d stand in long lines just to experience the new dishes and the bright colors while being surrounded by the buzzing energy of the city. One of his all time favorites is an Indian grilled cheese sandwich popularly known as “Mumbai Toastie.” Now, he’s married the fast-paced culture of Indian street food with fresh Cafe Spice ingredients in our latest release, inspired by one of the most popular Indian street food dishes: Toasties.
With Naan Toasties, Cafe Spice is cooking up real Indian street food, and giving you a way to enjoy it on the go. Inspired by real Indian street food, Naan Toasties are our answer to the grilled cheese—but with authentic Indian flavors, fresh ingredients, gooey, melted cheese and fresh, crispy Naan bread. Our Naan Toasties pack the tradition and deliciousness of Indian street food in a convenient to-go sandwich: just pop it in the toaster oven to make it extra crispy, and dig into comforting, authentic flavors.”
Making authentic Indian cuisine isn’t easy either – scouting out the unique ingredients, trying to follow a recipe, and then having all that clean up isn’t worth it at times for me, because I don’t live near specialty markets to secure ingredients and to be honest, my husband is tired of doing all of my dirty dishes. The meals come packaged in recyclable (and reusable) plastic containers as well as a cardboard sleeve – which is a compromise I am willing to make in exchange for quick and easy Indian dishes. Here’s the list of the Indian dishes they make – seriously incredible, plus they have Thai, Mexican, and Persian meals as well as family-sized meals of some varieties.
- Chicken Tikka Masala
- Butter Chicken Meatballs with Saffron Rice
- Channa Masala with Lemon Rice
- Chicken Curry with Lemon Rice
- Tofu Cashew Korma with Basmati Cumin Rice

Channa Sagg with garlic nann all day
Yummmmm!! I love chana masala, chicken tiki masala, and any kind of korma! I agree that living on MV without access to authentic Indian cuisine is HARD! I often joke that had I realized there was no Indian restaurant here before I moved to the island, that I wouldn’t have moved 😜
So hard to choose!!! My favorite when I could still eat everything was Lamb Korma with a side of garlic naan. Now, I would say chicken curry!
oh no! We have to choose a fav? chicken tikka and tandorri
Samosas and Tikka Masala are my favs !!
I’ve had Chicken Curry and really enjoyed it. It would be fun to try some new dishes. Thanks for the giveaway!
I have really enjoyed Chicken Curry in the past. I haven’t had the opportunity to try too many other Indian dishes, so this would be fun. Thanks for the giveaway!
