Beauty for Foodies: Green Lip Care

Another winter day, another Beauty For Foodies edition. Today, we’re focusing on lip care and how natural lip treatments should be a part of your beauty routine during the cold weather.

Living in New England has made me discover how important lip care during the rough, harsh winter is. That’s why I was excited when I discovered Kari Gran through Joleen Hart of “Eat Pretty” (a.k.a. my favorite wellness book ever!). The concept behind Kari Gran’s lip care is that it is actually skin care for lips. Which is a genius concept, since lips are probably one of our hardest working skin areas – and then we slather them with chemicals and crap!? Oh how thankless can we be?

These lip whips are so buttery soft, you won’t believe it. Always tested on willing humans, never on animals. What I love the most is there is no petroleum derivatives in sight! Organic, wild-harvested, and non-GMO ingredients are what make them up. A couple years ago, I actually helped my husband make the switch from a petroleum-based chapstick to a beeswax based one – he’s addicted to lip balm, so this was a success! For him, packaging in a metal tin is enough, but for me, holding on to something gorgeous makes the experience even better. Packaged in small Miron screw top pots, these lip whips are a must in your purse. Just take a look at the list of ingredients in the Natural Lip Whip:

  • Organic Ricinus Communis (Castor Seed) Oil
  • Organic Beeswax
  • Organic Camellia Oleifera (Camellia Seed) Oil
  • Organic Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil
  • Organic Olea Europaea (Olive), Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) & Calendula Officinalis (Calendula) Oil
  • Tocopherol (Non GMO Vitamin E from Sunflower)
  • Organic Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil

A must have in every season, but essential in the winter and beginning of spring to aid in healing your skin. Whether you live in cold New England or hot New Mexico – your lips deserve the royal treatment!
