Lemony Mango Tumeric Smoothies

Lemony mango tumeric smoothies are my summer go-to smoothie, and it’s a refreshing and healthy morning wake up!

The summer season on Martha’s Vineyard is a unique beast. Unlike the winter when the husband and I have the house all to ourselves, during the summer we tend to share the housing with other employees (we live on property at work, thus the sharing). New summer housemates bring in new adventures, new flavors, and new ways to make smoothies.

The new girls and I have started on a smoothie adventure of everyday having one green or regular smoothie, like lemony mango tumeric smoothies. For my friends, it’s the perfect way to start the day and for me, I substitute my work lunch for a hearty green smoothie. Since I’m at the restaurant and always nibbling and tasting dishes, having a smoothie for lunch keeps my energy going without lagging behind after a big meal (like I typically would be!)

Refuel with this smoothie packed with fresh mangoes and a sprinkling of powdered turmeric. Why turmeric? Well, I’m a strong believer of the power of spices and herbs, and turmeric is one of my favorites. It’s a natural anti inflammatory, has been said to be essential in cancer prevention, and it improves liver function! (Talk to your doctor about the effects of turmeric on your body. I am NOT a doctor.)

Another great addition to this smoothie is True Lemon by True Citrus, a 100% natural powdered citrus powder that adds a punch of citrus flavor into your drinks and recipes. With the inflated prices on citrus lately, True Lemon is an affordable way to add citrus flavor to your foods. (True Citrus sent me a box of their product to try, but I was under no obligation to share this.)

Oh and don’t skip out on the creme fraiche! In this case, I used Vermont Creamery’s Vanilla Bean Creme Fraiche, which makes this smoothie silky smooth and almost dessert-like!
