Tis the season for traveling! Whether you’re taking a vacation to a Caribbean island, going on a work-related trip, or driving 8 hours to eat Thanksgiving dinner at your grandma’s home, travel essentials are a just that…essential. Below I’ve curated a list of things that I ALWAYS travel with. Leave me a comment below on what are some of your essentials!

1. Herban Essentials Towelettes

These Herban Essential Wipes have seriously changed the way I travel. Not only are they a great refresher if you’re traveling long hours, but they are infused with natural oils like lavender (calming) and orange (invigorating). Perfect for wiping down your face and arms, but also naturally antibacterial so you can wipe down seats, rails or anything else!

2. Kindle Paperwhite

My Kindle Paperwhite and I are now inseparable. Why would I ever carry heavy books when I can have thousands of books at my disposal on my Kindle? It’s lightweight and has no glare – I’ve tested it out in dark bedrooms and bright, sunny beaches. It reads just like a book, only more comfortable!

3. Black Scarf

I’ve had this scarf/pashmina for over 5 years and keep coming back to it. It’s heavy enough to keep me warm but light enough to not have me overheat. I like black scarves because in case I forget my eye mask, I’m that crazy person with the scarf wrapped around her eyes to catch some sleep! It works well as a light blanket as well!

4. The Body Shop Vitamin C Spray

Like the wipes, this Vitamin C spray is such a revitalizer, not only between flights, but for those morning hangovers. Whether you had five drinks too many or just a long red eye flight, this spray will perk you right up with it’s amazing orange scent.

  • Contains Amazonian camu camu berry, which is known to have one of the highest contents of vitamin C in nature. Antioxidant vitamin C encourages collagen production, improves elasticity and protects against damaging environmental aggressors.

5. Oral B Glide Floss

If you follow me on Twitter, you might know about my addiction to flossing. Every day, three times a day, I floss. I can’t stand to even think about what would happen if I forget my floss! Oh and this Glide Floss is my all-time favorite one.

6. EOS lip balm

I just recently discovered this awesome lip balm and love it! The fun shape and the smoothness is perfect. I’ve tried to get on the super hippie, organic balms but these tend to crumble and harden once the winter weather hits.

7. Mozo Canvas Flats

On our last trip, I only brought two pairs of shoes: these flats and some “going out” flats. These canvas flats by Mozo (full disclosure: they sent me this pair because of a random tweet I sent out about kitchen shoes) are godsent. I walked endless miles in them without a bruise, a blister, a cut. I couldn’t stop telling M how comfortable these were;

Me: “These are THE most comfortable shoes ever honey!”

Husband: “I know. You’ve repeated this 23 times on this trip!”

They’re very lightweight but offer just the right amount of support! They go perfectly with skirts, skinny jeans, or even dresses (although I don’t wear dresses).

8. Eye Mask

Whatever is comfortable on you, I think I just grabbed mine from a drug store and have never left it behind ever since!

9. Water

Hydration, specially during flights, is super important. After passing security, I buy a bottle of water and tuck it in my purse. I hate cold water, so a room temperature water will do! If I remember, I’ll bring an empty water bottle and just refill it throughout my trip (but first I check is the tap water in the city is safe to drink!)

….and I almost forgot #10. Tylenol!

I always carry a few Tylenols in my purse in case I get an awful headache or muscle pain. It also helps me relax before bed, specially those Tylenol PM.

  1. I love finding out other people’s essentials and figuring out what I should add to my own! I always bring a black scarf, too!

  2. I will have to get my mitts on those refreshing wipes – because after hours in the air – I feel all sorts of grimey! What a great list of must-haves, M!

  3. Nice list. I really should invest in the Kindle Paperwhite. I like to stay up and read, but my husband doesn’t like to have any lights on when he sleeps. I think it might be a perfect solution to my desire to read and his to sleep.

  4. Great list! I love how every traveler’s list is slightly different and by looking at other’s lists I always get new ideas for my own.

  5. Ooo I love the Kindle, too! And I’m sure a fan of your blog…and not just because I think the name is cute! 🙂

  6. What great travel tips! Going to check out ALL these products and will make sure I have them on my next trip. Have a happy, safe Thanksgiving holiday, Nelly 🙂
