A few weeks ago, the Martha’s Vineyard Food and Wine Festival invaded the island in all its glory. I’m happy to say I was part of the social media team and am totally proud of what we did. The food, the wine, the events, and the 1,000 people that came on island for it made it the most successful festival to date! Here are some snapshots from my iPhone (edited with Instagram).

These simple fingerling Sweet Potatoes & Shiitakes were made by the Beach Plum Inn using North Tabor Farm produce. As simple as they look, they were my favorite bite of the Ag Hall event. A touch of thyme leaves and these just melted in your mouth.

Dear 7aFoods: you guys make my mouth happy every time I have a bite of your food. These Good Farm Chicken Liver Crostini were topped with a local farm’s apple butter and…wait for it….salt cured egg. Dan Sauer is a maverick and this egg was grated over the crostini, bursting in flavor.

Another favorite of mine during the opening event at The Harbor View Hotel were these Soba Noodles. Not only was the presentation genius, but the delicate soba flavors melded perfectly with the fresh herbs.

We took a field trip out to Chilmark to visit Todd of Chilmark Coffee. He talked to us about how he roasts his coffee, what challenges he faces, and basically just served us amazing coffee after another.

The Grand Tasting was packed with great wine and chefs ready to share with you a glass of bubbly (or red or white!) and a bite of food. Some of the demo chefs at the event included:

  • Nathan Gould Executive Chef Harbor View Hotel, Edgartown
  • Top Chef Master Suvir Saran, Sacred Monkey, SF
  • Alex Nagi, Copper Wok & MV Chowder Company, Oak Bluffs
