Disclosure: This sponsored post was written in collaboration with Hamilton Beach, but opinions are 100% my own.

Chocolate Dipped Vanilla Baked Donuts

Baking in a toaster oven had never crossed my mind – I must have been living under a rock until Hamilton Beach kindly sent me their latest toaster oven and said to get creative! After some research and asking friends their experience, I decided to test out this little oven’s capabilities by baking a batch of these Chocolate-Dipped Vanilla Baked Donuts, and boy did this toaster oven exceeded my expectations!

Chocolate Dipped Vanilla Baked Donuts
Author: Marnely Murray
Recipe type: Dessert
Prep time:  15 mins
Cook time:  15 mins
Total time:  30 mins
Serves: 6 baked donuts

These simple baked donuts are a treat - super easy to whip up and when baked in a counter top oven, one of the quickest desserts you'll ever make!
Ingredients
For the donuts:
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or oil
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
For the chocolate glaze:
  • ¼ cup chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
Instructions
  1. Preheat your toaster oven (or regular oven) to 350F and grease your mini-donut pan.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking power, and salt.
  3. In a large separate bowl, whisk the sugar, egg, buttermilk, and melted butter. Whisk until sugar dissolves, about 3-4 minutes. Add vanilla extract.
  4. Add the liquid into the dry ingredients and mix until incorporated.
  5. Using a plastic piping bag or spoon, fill the donut pan ¾ of the way and place in oven. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until light golden brown.
  6. Remove from pan and cool on cooling track while making the glaze.
  7. To make the glaze: in a microwave safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil together.
  8. Whisk until combined. Dip cooled donuts in the glaze and let set.
  9. Best when consumed within 2-3 days.

I would be likely to bake a sweet potato first, or to make cinnamon toast (use the toaster, then butter and sugar the bread and broil it for the best cinnamon toast!).

I would cook asparagus in this toaster oven instead of heating up the large oven. I make asparagus 2-3 times per week when it is seasonal.
