Caprese Hummus Dip

Caprese Hummus Dip comes together in five minutes! It’s casual enough to serve to your family members, but also impressive enough for guests.  If you’re cooking dinner and need something to hold everyone over for the next 30 minutes, this is your answer!

Today’s post is pretty close to my real life situation, because today I’ve joined forces with Sabra to showcase “the unofficial meal”, most commonly known as the pre-dinner snack. It’s casual, it’s easy, and it’s normally served around the counter top or coffee table while you watch Jeopardy and wait for dinner to finish cooking.

Caprese Hummus Dip

My family consists of my husband and I, both professionals that work in a restaurant kitchen. We’re quite fond of the unofficial meal, as it tends to be the one moment we can connect on a deeper level.

And my husband is the inspiration behind this caprese hummus dip, because he’s a lover of fresh mozzarella and a hardcore hummus fan. This simple dip starts with Sabra’s Basil Pesto Hummus as the creamy base layer, building it up with sweet bursts of cherry tomatoes, creamy fresh mozzarella, and fragrant torn basil. Finished with a sprinkling of salt, pepper, and fresh olive oil, we dig into it while dinner cooks.

“When it comes to The Unofficial Meal, we’ve experienced this moment for years and realize how special it is. But we’re also a bit annoyed that it’s been overshadowed by all the other official meals and has never been given its well-deserved time in the limelight. We’re anxious for others to gather ‘round Sabra and recognize how awesome this moment is.” – Sabra

I am so excited this campaign is happening! I think the #UnofficialMeal needs to come to the limelight and we all need to give it that necessary attention. Connecting before, during, and after a meal is incredibly important.

This week, make it your goal to prepare a little something like this hummus dip, a small cheese platter, a couple raw vegetables and chips. Use it to connect with family before your meal. It’ll make you smile, I promise.

In the meantime, I’ll be digging into this caprese hummus dip!

Seems there isn’t much that *isn’t* good on top of some hummus! Love your caprese take, Nelly!

It’s hard to beat a good caprese salad this time of the year…unless you add it to hummus! What a genius idea, Marnely. And the Basil Pesto Hummus…perfecto! 🙂
