Kale-cabbage green juice is a healthy and delicious way to kick off the new year!
It’s a cliché, I know. But healthy resolutions are to be made and we’re to be inundated with recipes such as this kale-cabbage green juice. The great thing is, I’ve been drinking this juice since September, so resolutions be damned!
“This year I’ll lose the weight…”
“This will be the year I start eating healthier…”
“2016 is the year I break my addiction to carbs…”
I murmur these quotes, and many others like them, underneath my breath as each year starts coming to an end. We’ve all been there – the making of health resolutions that seem so hard to keep! Heck, I think it may be easier to learn how to fly a plane than to break my carbohydrate addiction.
Truthfully, I’m on the same plane again, making resolutions of a healthier life, but never making it past February. And every year I say the same thing – “this year will be different!”, so I dare not repeat those same words.
But the words I will say are that I’m starting this year with healthy kale-cabbage green juice!
And slowly but surely, I will replace the snacks with dubious ingredients to healthier versions. Green juice is a gateway drug to a healthier lifestyle, or so I hope.
Fear not, the blog won’t turn into a full blown health blog – it’s just going to hopefully adapt to the times. More natural ingredients, less junk. Starting with this recipe for Kale-Cabbage Green Juice, one I’ve actually been sipping since September. It’s health benefits are incredible and you really do feel the difference after a couple of chugs – but honestly, I’ll quote one of my favorite organic bloggers who I met this past 2015, Olivia of Organic Olivia. One of her favorite reasons for eating raw cabbage is:
“Vitamin U is a healing enzyme found in cabbage. It soothes the inflamed stomach lining and corrects low stomach acid, and is phenomenal for quickly curing stomach ulcers. You can juice raw cabbage or drink the juice at the bottom of your salad to get concentrated Vitamin U.” – Organic Olivia on 10 Reasons to Eat Raw Cabbage
I definitely recommend you read the entire post and then head to the store for some cabbage and kale to make this green juice – one of my favorite ways to consume the ever so powerful and healthy cabbage plant!

- ½ bunch kale, chopped
- 1 large pear, chopped
- 1 large apple, chopped
- Wash everything very well before chopping.
