Tired of drinking eggnog and cider? I’ve got the perfect cocktail recipe for you – it won’t weigh you down and it’s refreshing + crisp, which we sometimes need even if it’s 20F outside and we’re bundled up in a million layers!

And everywhere you go, someone is offering you a glass of chilled eggnog or a mug of hot apple cider. Tis the season, right? Yes, but I can’t be the only one tired of the same offerings. I need something brighter, something even a tad refreshing on these chilly nights when the heat of the fireplace (or my heated blanket) become a bit much. And that’s where this Cranberry Grapefruit Cocktail comes in – it’s crisp and tart thanks to the grapefruit juice, a touch spiced thanks to the Sorel, and sweet enough thanks to a splash of simple syrup.

Not only does it taste fantastic, but how great does this cocktail look served in these Tervis Stout Glasses? Although I’m all about red & green during the holidays, our tree this year is blue and silver, so these glasses perfectly complement our decor. When Tervis sent me a couple of these as a gift, I decided to use them for cocktails and they worked out so well! They’re microwave & dishwasher safe, reduce condensation, and are made in the USA – what’s not to love? Plus, it keeps your cocktail cold for a while, specially important for me since I’m such  slow drinker.

And if you’re wondering what Sorel is, it’s  perfectly described on their site as: “The brightness of Brazilian clove. The warmth of Indonesian cassia. The heat of Nigerian ginger. The woody bottom of Indonesian nutmeg. The full, aromatic body of Moroccan hibiscus. Pure cane sugar.  The finest organic grain alcohol.” Seriously, I couldn’t have said it better. Works fantastic during the holidays thanks to the warm spices!
