It’s smack middle of summer and the hot temperatures, the busy work schedule, and the endless events on MV have made me a busier than ever person when I honestly just want to stay home, take a nap, and snack on all of the products below under the covers! But back to reality, where I share this month’s favorite treats!
Super Seed Crackers by Mary’s Gone Crackers
Made with sunflower, pumpkin, and poppy seeds, these Super Seed Crackers are just the perfect crispy cracker for a summer cheese platter. Dip them in hummus, layer them with cheese and prosciutto, or even dunk them in guacamole and you’ve got the perfect vessel for all your goodies.
Power Cakes by Kodiak Cakes
Mornings for us are pretty relaxed, since I go into work at 9am and the husband gets a little more shut eye since he has to be at work at 10am. If my alarm isn’t snoozed, I’m up by 6:30am to get some work done before going into the restaurant. Usually the coffee is brewing before I speak one word and breakfast is made. These power cakes are just what I need on mornings when I know I’ll be working a 14-hour day at the restaurant: they’re filling, delicious, and hit the spot. I love slathering them with strawberry preserves!
Smoked Peanuts by Planters
If you’re looking for the perfect nut snack to munch on while drinking beer, these smoked peanuts are just the thing! The husband loves these will drinking PBR (yes, he loves a PBR after a long day at the restaurant). A great combination of spicy, salty, and a touch of sweet, these smoked peanuts are a great addition to your pantry staples.
Tart Cherry Juice by Cheribundi
This little bottle of cherry juice came home with me after a trip to Boston and of course, Whole Foods. It’s tart, it’s sweet, and it’s good for me! I’m happy I bought a couple of these and can’t wait to create a recipe with it. Can you imagine a cherry glazed pork tenderloin, a cherry rice pilaf, or even a cherry chocolate cake?! I’m excited….really excited.
All Organic Cane Sugar Syrup by Hey Shuga!
This all organic sugar cane syrup was discovered on my latest trip to the Dominican Republic. At a random store, I saw this bottle and it sang to me. A locally made product from my home island, this cane sugar syrup is delicious in cocktails, smoothies, and desserts.
Hot Cinnamon Spice by Harney & Sons
Food blogger friends are the best friends to have. A couple of weeks ago I came down with an awful summer cold and after announcing it on Facebook, a couple of days later I received this gorgeous hot cinnamon spice tea tin from my friend Brandy of Nutmeg Nanny. It seriously made me feel better, so quickly. The warm black tea, the citrusy orange peel, and the three kinds of cinnamon made this the perfect tea to sip on when sick.
Red Thai Curry by Passage Foods
These simmer sauces have solved my dinner issues more than once. Simply choose a protein like beef, chicken, or pork, sauté and simmer with the sauce. I love serving this thai curry over a bed of jasmine rice.
Avocado Oil by La Tourangelle
Growing up, we had two avocado trees in our backyard but this was my first time tasting avocado oil and it’s currently my favorite oil to drizzle over summer salads and grilled seafood. A delicate, fruit flavor enhances all your summer cooking!
Iced Coffee by Real Beanz
I’m always looking for the next best coffee drink and this iced coffee is my current favorite. The addition of coconut water gives it a natural sweetness that I love and it keeps me hydrated and energized just like my hot coffee does. A quick pick me up during the afternoon or in between restaurant shifts.

I have tried Hey Shuga and LOOOOVE it! So funny you found it in the DR … they sell it at Whole Foods, Krogers and Fred Meyers too. Great product! I follow them on Facebook and Instagram and like their Caribbean/Adventurous style.
I have a theory that I can make ANYONE fall in love with tea by giving them Harney & Sons Hot Cinnamon Spice. It is SO SO good. I want to try so many of these things, but especially the avocado oil 🙂
