Nothing says comfort food more than a gooey grilled cheese sandwich! Well today we’re revisiting the classic sandwich and creating a more decadent, gourmet sandwich you can serve to friends and family. And since we’re partnering up with Great Midwest cheeses, here’s a little more about them and this line: This tantalizing line of Wisconsin-made, artisan cheeses is blended with flavors that appeal to a wide variety of tastes. Hand-crafted in small batches, using only the purest, certified hormone-free milk for a smooth, natural, consistent flavor worthy of a gallery. Each Great Midwest® cheese is a masterpiece.

Habanero Jack Grilled Cheese with Pears and Prosciutto5

To create this unique grilled cheese sandwich, we first had to decide on which of the Great Midwest cheeses to use and eventually settled on the Habanero Jack. Both the husband and I are big spice fans and Habanero peppers are pretty spicy! That being settled, we needed some ingredients to help balance out the heat and that’s where crispy, fresh pears and creamy, salty prosciutto come into play. They both help ease the heat and prolong the flavors. A slathering of whole grain mustard on a chewy, herby ciabatta bread is all you need to make this sandwich complete!
