Induction Burners. Have you ever used one? If you haven’t, today might be your lucky day since I’m giving one away! But first, let’s talk a little about why this NuWave Precision Induction Cooktop will change your life if you’re always doing cooking demonstrations, are on the road, or live in a tiny apartment and a stovetop is all you need!
Pros of the NuWAve PIC: great control of temperatures (from 100F to 575F); pause button allows you to stop for a minute or two if needed without turning off the power; easy clean-up (just wipe down); and extremely portable!
Cons of the NuWAve PIC: I can honestly say I loved all about it! I’ve boiled water on it for pasta and cooked chicken on it, as well as these crepes and the cooktop works great. My only con would be that I’d appreciate a longer cord to plug in!
Now, what’s the NuWave PIC really about? From their website: the NuWave PIC is comprised of a series of induction coils (based on magnetic principles). These coils generate magnetic fields that produce a warming reaction in steel and iron-based pots and pans. In this way, heat is generated in the cookware and not on the cooktop surface, which is much more energy-efficient than traditional gas or electric ranges. Induction cooking is the most eco-friendly way to prepare meals because the method releases no toxins into the environment. Induction cooking emits no flame, so less residual heat is produced in your kitchen. The NuWave Precision Induction Cooktop remains cool to the touch where the magnetic surface is not activated.
You might be wondering, what should you fill your crepes with? Well, the ones above were simply filled with fresh strawberries and a drizzle of Not Your Sugar Mamas “Be Saucey” Chocolate Sauce. Here are some other dessert flavor combinations you can enjoy, plus the recipe adapted from a Cabot recipe we tried at Blog and Bake!
- Marinated Strawberries and Fresh Basil
- Bananas Foster (rum, brown sugar, cinnamon)
- Grilled Peaches, Honey, and Ricotta
- Roasted Grapes and Brie
Slightly sweet crepe with the fillings of your choice make a great dessert for dinner parties!
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 3 large eggs
- 4 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 1/4 cup whole milk
- 1 stick unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
Instructions
- In a blender, mix all the ingredients together. Strain and refrigerate for at least an hour (preferably overnight.)
- When you're ready to make the crepes, remove batter from the refrigerator and thaw for 15 minutes. Pour 1/4 cup of batter over buttered pan over medium heat, twirling the pan to coat the entire bottom.
- When fully cooked, place toppings on half of it and roll or fold. Serve with fresh fruit, creme fraiche, and powdered sugar.

Disclosure: NuWaveNow provided me with an induction cooktop for myself and will be providing the giveaway prize as well.
I haven’t had a crepe since I lived in New York. I am going to try this recipe and hope it turns out since my stovetop doesn’t work very well,I’m going to cross my fingers!!! This is one of my favorite most versatile foods.
I think a frittata would be my first recipe.
I’d like to try your recipe–even though I’ve never made crepes before. or, maybe I’d make a simple stir-fry with the veggies from our garden (which should be ready soon). Thanks for the giveaway!
These crepes look so good; however, when I try to make crepes they never turn out correct.
I would love one of these to take with me to Morocco! They use propane tanks hooked up to stoves and that scares me! First thing I would make….everything? This would be my go to stovetop!!!!
The first thing I would make are these crepes because they look delicious!
Crepes!
I’m thinking a frittata would be a great first.
I’d use it to make Japanese okonomiyaki (like a savory cabbage pancake, with lots of good stuff inside, like shrimp, squid, mochi, and egg).
Sour cream pancakes or seared salmon.
A MUST VANILLA CREPES W/ SOME BANANAS
Looks yummy! Would love to make those crepes and fluffy pancakes!
It seems like such a cop-out to say crepes, but I haven’t even attempted them since I was 15 and we made them for our French Club bake sale — on site, right there at the table. I’m pretty sure they were not so awesome. And one of these induction cooktops would have come in handy that day!
We Love Crepes with a red wine reduction.
Wow, this looks so cool!
I never even heard of induction cooking before. Maybe pancakes
I would start with sauteed onions. There’s something so satisfying about stirring onions until they get soft and caramelized.
I’ve always wanted to try cooking on induction!
I’d love to try to make these fabulous crepes!
This looks perfect for me
I would love to cook pancakes
I would love this! I can’t tell you how many times I wish I had an extra burner when throwing a party.
I absolutely love induction cooking! I would use it all the time…not just for baking, but also cooking.
Those crepes look amazing..I’m thinking that is what I would make first…gluten free of course!
Crap I don’t know what I would make first but those crepes sure look good so maybe I’d give those a try.
I’d love to try an induction cooktop. I’ve seen them used and they look convenient and easy to use.
My first thought when I saw this was “This would be perfect to take to the cabin.” So, I’d say the first thing I’d cook on it is beef bacon from a great, local butcher.
I would make these crepes, but stuffed with Bananas and Nutella. I studies abroad in Paris for a little, and this is all I would eat there! (well, maybe not all, but it was a heavy part of my diet, haha)
I would love to win the NuWave and I the first thing I would try is the vanilla bean crepes!
I would probably make something with seared tofu!
I went to a great creperie in NYC and had delicious crepes with butter, brown sugar, and lemon juice. I’d love to be able to make those at home just whenever I feel like it.
Funny, I’ve been looking at induction burners as we’ve just got electric here and I’ve scorched every batch of yogurt I’ve made so far. For that and boiling water, I’d love one of these!
I’d love to try cooking on an induction cooker. I think crepes are the perfect recipe to try it out.
Godsend? YES! Thanks for a great giveaway!
I would make the Vanilla Bean Crepes!
Sounds delicious!
Honestly, I’d probably boil water and make some pasta. I’d love to see that water boil in a minute!
I would probably try your crepes recipe since I have never used an induction burner before. Great Giveaway!
The first recipe? I’d boil water. Just to see how fast it is. I hate waiting for water to come to a boil.
You know I need this right?
I’d have to start with your crepes!
I think the first thing I’d want to make is some sort of fritter. I always mess them up so maybe this would help?
The crepes sound perfect! I would try those first
Oh wow- I love that. Great giveaway. I would try your crepes. Been discussing crepes a lot lately & I should just pick a day & do it.
Induction cooktops are so underrated. I love them!
Honestly I really want the creeps pictured above. They look delicious, based on the recipe book there are so very many choices well be making many new recipes
I’ve always wondered just how induction works. I think one if these is a perfect compliment to any kitchen.
I’m not certain how I would use this if I won it, but I’d have fun figuring it out.
I will have to try the Vanilla Bean Crepes. It looks amazing!
The crepes sound like a great first cooking trial!
I love induction burners! I used them in culinary school, but never had one of my own. I like the idea of plugging it in in my back yard near the grill and using it to maybe fry some fries while I flip burgers. That would be fun
I would use it to make a tempered chocolate dessert!
Hmmm probably scrambled eggs! Or pasta sauce
