As you all know, I was part of the organizing committee for the first ever Martha’s Vineyard Wine Festival (not to be confused with the Martha’s Vineyard Food & Wine Festival happening in October 2013). Everything from crafting tweets to connecting with local artisans and chefs, as well as a million emails in between, I was so proud to be a part of the team! Below are some wine-infused photos as well as snippets of information. Hope you can make it here next year!

The Martha’s Vineyard Wine Festival debuted in its first year as an annual festival on Cape Cod & the Islands May 9th until May 12th and it was an unforgettable food and wine experience, as well as a philanthropic endeavor.

This year, the Local Wild Food Challenge and the Martha’s Vineyard Boys and Girls Club, were beneficiaries of proceeds raised throughout the weekend at specific events; a Silent Auction took place during the weekend, with all proceeds going to both the charities. Thanks to everyone that provided items to auction off, such as Lisa Ekus, Abrams Books, and Quirk Books (great cookbooks!)

More than 200 wineries from all over the world were present to showcase and offer tasting of their wines at the Grand Tasting on Saturday May 11th at the Edgartown Rod and Gun Club. Attendees enjoyed strolling the beautiful meadows of what is the Rod and Gun Club, while sipping on wine and getting to know local vendors.

We capped off the festival on Sunday May 12th with a Bottomless Mimosa Brunch and Endless Bloody Mary’s at the local Detente Restaurant. It was a fantastic event and a total success from our point of view – everyone has a great time, there was more wine than we could ever drink in a week, and we showcased local vendors and artisans.
