We’re back again with some new products we’ve come across this month – great companies that are making even more amazing products and stand behind them fully. Be sure to check out the links provided and support them!
Kelapo Coconut Baking Sticks
If you love coconut oil, you’ll love these pre-measured sticks. Extremely useful for when you’re baking, I love this brand now only for their product, but for what their products stand for. It’s organic cold-pressed coconut oil thats vegetarian certified and fair trade approved! Used to bake the pie crust for this Carrot Jalapeño Cheese Pie, the result was just what you’d want in pie crust, with a hint of coconut flavor!
Organic Whole Grain Einkorn Flour
Grown and harvested on family farms in Washington state, this flour is known to be lower in gluten then modern wheat. It’s actually considered an ancient grain and is a rich source of the beta carotene lutein, a powerful antioxidant. Since the entire grain is ground up, all of the nutrients stay with the flour and result in healthier baked goods.
Himalania Salt
Harvested at an elevation of 10,000 feet in the Himalayian Mountains, this pink salt is considered a fossil marine salt, since it was formed more than 200 million years ago! We’re loving this salt in our cooking and it’s taken over the Kosher salt for the past month. It’s gorgeous to look at and the flakes are small enough to dissolve delicately into sauces, soups, and other dishes. What makes the salt pink? The natural amount of iron in it!
Oliana Oils
Sure, Oliana Oils has a great variety of oils and vinegars, but let me tell you about my current addiction; their Cranberry Pear White Balsamic Vinegar is out of this world amazing! It’s tart and fruity, with a good balance of sweetness and not overwhelming vinegar aromas. Gorgeous in color, it’s great in salad dressings or whisked with honey for a glaze for pork or poultry, and Oliana even suggests it in cocktails – amazing!
Salsa Me Krazy
Whenever I hear about a small batch product, I love learning their stories and how the recipes came about. Even better when the recipes all started with a recipe from Mom, which is how Salsa Me Krazy started. it’s now made by hand in Indiana, with tomatoes, green peppers, onions, jalapeños, and habaneros. There’s something about this salsa that even when you smell it, it kind of does drive you crazy, in the best way possible. It’s tangy, sweet, and savory, all at once!
Sipping Dreams Chocolate
This chocolate got me through the colder winter months (heck, it’s still a little chilly!). The bar makes a rich, decadent beverage that’s the best treat on a crisp night. Made with 72% dark chocolate by Guittard, Dutch processed cocoa powder, pure cane sugar, and cacao butter, this bar makes a drinking chocolate unlike any other. Incomparable to hot cocoa mixes that are made purely of cocoa powder, the addition of cacao butter makes it a richer beverage to enjoy. Locally made in Oregon.
Past “New This Month” sections
Disclaimer for New This Month: Some products were sent as samples, other products I personally purchase. Anything on here, I recommend 110%. A combination of flavors, company ethics, and customer service are what get products on this list.
Isn’t the Pink Himalayan Salt good! Currently I’m using a Safeway brand version and its so good!! Higher quality food products really means you don’t need to use as much of it 🙂
Thanks for these reviews, Marnely! Your recommendations mean a lot.
P.S. I love Salsa Me Krazy — good stuff!
