Above is one of my favorite quotes; and even though I’m not looking for a “cure” right now, I am in need of a break from all the writing, endless recipe testing, and photography taking.
M. and I are headed to the Dominican Republic for a few weeks of relaxation, family time, and endless sunsets on the beach. We’ll be eating my Mother’s food, drinking my Father’s natural juices from the fruits in our backyard; we’ll be going to restaurants and not bringing out iPhones with us; we’ll stroll down the Colonial Zone and I’ll share stories with him about growing up in the DR.
We’ll explore new cities, sounds, flavors, and smells. Of course, we’ve got some things up our sleeves, like visiting a rum plantation and seeing how rum is made; we’re visiting a local brewery and sampling beers; chocolate grown in the Dominican Republic will be one of our endless treats. And we’re looking forward to sharing all of this and more when we come back in January 2013.
New ideas are developing in our minds and we’re taking this time to explore new ventures, new designs, and new experiences that we will then share with you all. In the meantime, remember to take a step back this holiday season and really enjoy what the holidays are about.
You won’t see anew post here until January of next year, when we come back with new energy and projects to share with you all. Here’s to hoping you all have a fabulous holiday season! Cheers to a great ending to 2012 and a new year beginning!

Happy travels! Looking forward to your tales and photos!
Have a wonderful time. Happy Holidays!
