Summer is in full swing on the Cape and Islands, and I thought it was the perfect time to share my love for The Woods Hole Inn. Yes, normally when you are on Woodshole, you’re an inch and a half away from the Vineyard, which could be your final destination. But on one of my latest trips, I had the wonderful opportunity to stay at The Woods Hole Inn. My flight would be arriving later than expected and I wouldn’t be able to make the last ferry at 9:45pm, so staying at The Woodshole Inn was the best choice since they are located a few steps from the Steamship Authority.

Entering The Woods Hole Inn changes whatever mood you were in, to a calm and relaxing state of mind; light blue tones, with white details all over the place bring you to that serene beach house setting you’ve always dreamed about. Walking up the stairs to my room, I could feel the history of the Inn as well, with photography and wallpaper that was made up of vintage hotel check-in receipts. Once in The Nonamessett Room, crisp white linens snuggle on the king sized bed, a bed you want to jump into the moment you see it. I refrained and decided to check out the entire room.

There’s a sitting area that’s perfect for having that morning cup of coffee or late night cup of tea before bed, curled up with a good book. Oh and did I mention the light in this room?  Streaming from two sides of the building and overlooking the harbor, it urges you to never even leave you room. But if you do leave the room, check out the private deck. Yes, private deck with lounge chairs to relax, have a snack, and just enjoy the view.

One of my favorite parts of the room was the bathroom: luxurious, relaxing, and with everything you might need on your trip. The toiletries were enchanting scents, sitting above an antique claw-foot soaking tub (for nights when you need a bubble bath!) and right next to them, the rain shower. Seriously, I could live happily ever after in that bathroom!

Other amenities include charming modern decor, in-room wireless internet access, flat screen television with DVD player, an iPod docking station, pillow-top mattress, and luxury linens.

The only thing I’m sad about is not being able to try the food at their restaurant, Quicks Hole. Known for their lobster tacos, we definitely need to make a day trip back, because the rest of their menu looks delicious! Be sure to check out the Woods Hole Inn for reservations and updates. Also find them on Facebook and Twitter.

Disclaimer: I was provided with a free night stay at the Woods Hole Inn in order to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own and I honestly would just love to move into the Woods Hole Inn!

  1. Mmmm… lobster. beer. wine. tacos. I think we hit all the important points right there.

  2. Lovely! I think I’d make sure to arrive late enough to miss the ferry every time 🙂
