It seems I can never recall how I meet people on Twitter. What brought us together or why we even started tweeting, and with Paola, it’s the same case. But that’s not my point. My point is that I’m so happy that Twitter united us and Paola and I are friends now. We met at a small tweet-up at Morning Glory Farm and constantly run into each other at random events on island. We’re literally a text away and I’m grateful to have her in my life. But Paola is going through a currently devastating situation after having her new home burn down on New Year’s Day. Here’s her story and how YOU can help!
On New Year’s Day a very destructive house fire in Oak Bluffs threatened the life of our dear friend Paola Ayala Fuller, and destroyed all of her possessions. Everything she owned was incinerated. There has been a huge outpouring of concern from across the Vineyard community and beyond, from caring people asking how to help. A group of Paola’s Martha’s Vineyard friends have organized several options to help her get back on her feet. We welcome your help in spreading our message to others.
As her employer, the Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce is happily accepting donations for Paola. Donations can be made in the form of cash, check (please make checks out to Paola Fuller) or credit card at the Chamber of Commerce office at 24 Beach Road in Vineyard Haven, MA 02568 or by mail c/o Friends of Paola, P.O Box 1698, Vineyard Haven, MA 02568. If you would like to make a donation by credit card, you may also call Alisa at the Chamber, 508 693-0085 x17. Donations may be made Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM.
There will also be a benefit fundraiser in support of Paola on Saturday, January 21st, from 5pm to 8pm at Season’s in Oak Bluffs. Tickets will be $20 and may be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce, Seasons the day of the event or by calling Kim Wells (508 274-3894), Barbara Willmott (508 696-0271) or Catie Fuller (508 776-7032). Raffles will be held at the gathering featuring a variety of donated local items. All proceeds will go directly to Paola.
For additional information or any questions, please contact Kim Wells (508 696-3737), Barbara Willmott (508 696-0271) or Catie Fuller (508 776-7032).

Let me know where I could deliver it.
Thanks.

Wow! Paola must be well loved by everyone who knows her. The winner of this event would be very lucky indeed.
Will make a donation to her this week. I hope she gets back on her feet quickly.
You’re a very good friend but that does not surprise me one bit!
Maureen, Thank you SO much! You’re such a kindhearted person!
