It’s almost here! The 5th Annual Martha’s Vineyard Food and Wine Festival begins tomorrow, Friday and the Opening reception is all about Sweet Desserts and Wine. We’ll be enjoying signature desserts, learning from Al Rand, Renowned Spirit Educator and we’ll be tasting:

  • Bottega Liqueurs from Veneto, Italy including; Limoncino (made fr. Sicilian Lemons w/Grappa), Sambuca, Giandiua (Hazelnut/Chocolate Liqueur), and Alexander Grappa
  • Boulard Calvados VSOP, the finest Pays D’Auge Calvados
  • Cognac Frapin from the heart of Grande Champagne; both the VS (aged 6-7 years) and VSOP (aged 10-12 years)
  • Bauchant Orange Liqueur- made in Cognac France using 3 year aged Cognac and select oranges

On Saturday morning, we’ve chosen to attend the Italian Island Wines – Sicily and Sardegna Seminar, and I’m definitely excited to learn about grape varietals I’ve never even heard of! At 2pm is the Grand Tasting, where we get to see demos from:

  • Nicanor Garrido, Chef, Edgartown Yacht Club
  • Ric Orlando, Chef/Owner, New World Home Cooking Cafe and New World Catering

Sunday is all about Brunch! At the Harbor View Hotel, one of my favorite spots in Edgartown with gorgeous views of the Edgartown Lighthouse! “Prepared by Chef Levon Wallace, Water Street’s Grand Sunday Brunch Buffet includes a Local Raw Bar, Omelet and Carving Stations, Eggs Benedict, Codfish Cakes, Salads, and Desserts”

I’ll be tweeting and live blogging about the event all throughout the weekend, so stay tuned for pictures, interviews with chefs and more!
