Our restaurant’s garden has an abundance of fresh kale and kale isn’t even on our current menu! So what does a girl do? She eats a kale salad every day of the week, especially this Massaged Raw Kale Salad with Seeds!
The last day of August does not have to mean the end of summer. Actually, it’s definitely NOT the end of summer! We still have a couple of weeks left of warm summer days, even though the nights have once again become a bit too chilly. Enjoy these summer days by serving up big, fresh salads that are hearty and at the same time, healthy.
This Raw Kale & Seed Salad gets the special treatment by being massaged for a couple of minutes (make sure your hands are clean!) with both olive oil and balsamic vinegar. What a lucky salad, I’d say! Topped with a variety of seeds , it’s a powerhouse of a salad. Don’t have a specific seed? Substitute of whatever you have in your pantry!
As you can see in the background of these two photos, I’ve served this salad up with a Blake’s All Natural Frozen Meal and for good measure, this salad paired extremely well with it. When Blake’s contacted me to be a part of their first ever blogger campaign, I immediately signed up. A small New England family business, Blake’s is in the business of making homemade food easy. They’re serving up meals like Chicken Pot Pie, Mac & Cheese, Harvest Vegetable Pie, Turkey Pot Pie, and what’s pictured here is the latest in their line up, Tater Topped Hot Dish. The hearty kale salad held up well next to the cheesy, saucy, beef dish, which made me happy yesterday when I only had time to shred some kale and eat before another shift at work!
You can purchase Blake’s at participating Target stores, as well as from their online shop. Learn more about this fantastic company over on their website, where their humble story will inspire you to create memories with your family at the table.
