During our time in New Orleans, we rested our heads at The Dauphine Orleans, a boutique hotel in the heart of the French Quarter. Great personalized service and comfortable rooms made this the perfect stay!

We arrived bright and early in New Orleans on a  sunny weekday. I’m the type of traveler that loved early flights – arriving at my destination with a full day ahead of me makes me excited and ready to take on the day! To us, a vacation starts the moment you step inside your hotel room. Not when you board your flight, not when you land in your destination. But the moment you check-in and step inside your home for the next couple of days, that’s when you take a deep breathe and smile, cause you’re on vacation.

Since we arrived extra early, we had called the day before to set up and early check-in, which was no problem with the front desk staff. Early check-ins are critical to us: arriving at a destination and not being able to check into our rooms until 3pm really is inconvenient and The Dauphine Orleans definitely was a huge help getting us in early! As we stepped into our room at The Dauphine Orleans, we smiled. It was bright and airy, not crowded with random pieces of furniture. The bed just begged to be jumped on (but we didn’t since we’re adults, ahem) and the private balcony was just the thing that made us fall in love with the room. It was the perfect spot to relax with coffee early morning, trust me.

The hotel features buildings that date back to the early nineteenth century, which adds to it’s historical value. It’s a couple streets away from the hustle and bustle of Bourbon Street (and right across the street form one of our favorite spots for lunch on the trip, Bayona). The location was perfect – we’re big walkers and found we could walk mostly everywhere. And when we were to tired to walk or it was too late during the night, taxis were readily available and inexpensive. The nights were relatively quiet, since it’s not smack where the crowds of tourists congregate, but you do get your random trombone or jazz singer walking down your street. Hey, it’s the Big Easy!

One of our favorite features were the free water bottles replenished whenever you needed more. Since it was warm during our visit, it was nice to not have to pay $4 per water bottle at the hotel! It also includes a free continental breakfast if you’d like to grab a quick bite before heading out.

In conclusion, we’d definitely stay here on our next trip to New Orleans! The staff was incredibly helpful, our rooms were very clean (and cleaned efficiently on a daily basis), and the location couldn’t have been more perfect. Be sure to check out The Dauphine Orleans on Facebook and Twitter, as well as their website where they share special rates during the year. Hi Marnely,
Very nice review, and we thank you! The Dauuphine loves welcoming guests, and has been doing so at the top of the Tripadvisor list for many years….it was great to have you with us. On one of your next trips, we will be able to introduce you to one of the other hotels of the New Orleans Hotel Collection – perhaps the cute and modern styled Hotel Le Marais?
Love the blog, keep up the great work.
